Photos

There are many photo related widgets. In this guide we give step by step instructions on inserting widgets for two of the most popular - Picasa (slideshows) and Flickr (badges and slideshows). The steps for other photo widgets are likely to be similar.

Flickr Badges

Below we give a step by step guide on how to insert a Flickr Badge.

An HTML Badge

This is a Flickr badge showing items in a set called Xara_Gallery_2009. Make your own badge here.
A Flash Badge

Sign in to your account to create your own Flickr badge.

Select the type of badge you wish to create (an HTML badge or a Flash badge) and click Next.

Choose the content you'd like to display on your badge from your photostream and click Next.

Set the layout options and click Next.

Choose the colors and click Next.

Copy the HTML code (Ctrl + C) from the field labeled 'This is the code you need:' to embed into your website.

In Web Designer or Xtreme 5, open the web page in which you wish to embed your Flickr badge.

Using the Rectangle tool, insert a placeholder on your web page where you wish the badge to appear.

Open the Web Properties dialog via Utilities > Web Properties (or by clicking on the icon in the web toolbar or Shift+Ctrl+W) and then click on the Placeholder tab.

Replace the HTML code with the code you copied from Flickr.

Click on OK to apply the changes and close the dialog.

Flickr Slideshow

Below we give a step by step guide on how to insert a Flickr Slideshow.

Go to flickr.com and search to find the albums you are looking for

Select the the link labeled Slideshow to begin playing the slideshow.

Click on the link labeled ‘Share This’ on the top right hand side of the slideshow.

Copy the HTML code (Ctrl + C) from the field labeled ‘Grab the URl:’ to embed into your website.

Create a placeholder of the same size as the Flickr slideshow you are about to embed.

Position the placeholder in your page where you wish the slideshow to appear.

Open the Web Properties dialog via Utilities > Web Properties (or by clicking on the icon in the web toolbar or Shift+Ctrl+W) and then click on the Placeholder tab

Replace the HTML code with the code you copied in step 4.

Click on OK to apply the changes and close the dialog.

Picassa Photo Slideshow

Below we give a step by step guide on how to insert a Picasa Slideshow.

Go to the Picasa Web Albums home page and sign in to your account

Select the Link labelled 'My Photos'.

Choose the album you wish to embed.

Click on 'Link to this album' on the right hand side.

Click on 'Embed Slideshow'.

Select your slideshow options and copy the resulting HTML code (Ctrl + C).

Create a placeholder of the same size as the Picasa Slideshow you are about to embed.

Position the placeholder in your page where you wish the Picasa Slideshow to appear.

Open the Web Properties dialog via Utilities > Web Properties (or by clicking on the icon in the web toolbar or Shift+Ctrl+W) and then click on the Placeholder tab.
