Xara & McGraw Hill combine to offer graphic artists a chance to see their work in print
Xara has announced a new artwork contest and they’re offering something very unique as a prize: the chance for six lucky winners to have their
work published in 'Xara Xtreme, The Official Guide' by Gary David Bouton, to be released by the fall by McGraw Hill Professional.
Six full color pages will be devoted to showcasing and celebrating the talent of Xara artists. The contest is open to anyone and
artwork can be in any style or on any theme of the artist’s choosing – though naturally the artwork must be created in Xara's
award winning graphic design software Xara Xtreme (full or free 30 day trial). Five judges from the graphics industry will pick the
fortunate winners in early July.
The book is being written by popular computer guide author Gary Bouton, who has documented a wide range of graphics applications
and techniques, including video editing and special effects, photo retouching, 3D modeling, and illustration. Readers will see
how to create both commercial and fine art using Xara and more importantly, how to develop techniques that display their own style of artistic expression.
Charles Moir, Managing Director of Xara said "Gary has written a series of excellent and very popular books on Photoshop, so it's
great that he's creating a book about Xara Xtreme. It helps support the growing popularity of Xara software. The opportunity
from McGraw Hill Professional to showcase some new and original Xara created artwork in his book is a great idea."
The closing date for entries is June 15th and you can find out more at xara.com/competition
