Polls

You will find there are many poll related widgets to choose from. Below we give a step by step guide to inserting two of these - BuzzDash and FluidSurveys.

BuzzDash

BuzzDash allows you to create a ‘BuzzBite’ poll to be posted on your web page. Simply, set a poll question, the duration, customize the poll widget and insert the code provided in to Web Designer/Xara Xtreme.

Browse to the BuzzDash homepage. Sign in to your account, or click on register to create an account if you don’t already have one.

Select ‘Create Your Own Buzzbite’ at the top of the page and fill out the questions to configure the poll and click on the ‘Preview Buzzbite’ button.

A new window will open and you’ll see a preview of the poll, which you can edit if you wish. You can also customize the poll by selecting from one of the available themes. When you’re done, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Next, click on the 'Copy' button to embed the code into your personal web page or blog.

In Web Designer or Xtreme 5, open the web page in which you wish to embed your poll.

Using the Rectangle tool, insert a placeholder on your web page where you wish the poll to appear.

Open the Web Properties dialog via Utilities > Web Properties (or by clicking on the icon in the web toolbar or Shift+Ctrl+W) and then click on the Placeholder tab.

Enable the radio button Replace with HTML code and paste (Ctrl +V) the code you copied in step 4.

Click on OK to apply the changes and close the dialog.

Fluid

Below we give a step by step guide to inserting a FluidSurveys widget.

Browse to the FluidSurveys homepage. Sign in to your account, or click on 'Start - sign up Free!' to create an account if you don’t already have one.

FluidSurveys offer both poll and survey widgets. In this instance, click on the ‘Polls’ tab and then click on the ‘Create a New Poll’ link.

A new window will open, fill out the questions to configure your poll and click on the ‘Publish’ button. Then you will be directed to a page displaying a preview of your poll.

Next, click on the ‘Options’ link and copy (Ctrl + C) the HTML code provided.

In Web Designer or Xtreme 5, open the web page in which you wish to embed your poll.
